Boxed 12VDC 4A access control power system with 8-output power distribution, low-battery cutoff, and ULB-listed access compliance — the workhorse cabinet for 4-8 door installs.

Altronix AL400ULACMCB Access Power Supply Cabinet (4A, 8-Output)
Boxed 12VDC 4A access control power system with 8-output power distribution, low-battery cutoff, and ULB-listed access compliance — the workhorse cabinet for 4-8 door installs.
Deployment context
Single-cabinet head-end for 4-8 door access control installations. Mounted in IT/electrical room near the access controller. Boxed configuration eliminates separate distribution board purchase.
Load characteristics & current behavior
4A continuous at 12VDC. Each of 8 outputs PTC-protected and individually fused. Handles inrush from 4 simultaneous strike fires; 8-door inrush will sag bus voltage briefly (10-20ms) but recovers without dropping locks.
Failure & backup behavior
Low-battery cutoff at ~10.5V prevents deep SLA discharge. AC-fail relay output for monitoring integration. Output fault isolation — single door short doesn’t cascade to others. No supervised output reporting per door (consider LifeSafety FPO for that).
UL / safety standards
UL294 listed (access control), UL603 listed (police/fire), CSA C22.2, FCC Class B. ULB suffix indicates Listed Battery-backed configuration.
Runtime considerations
With 12Ah SLA battery: ~3 hours at 4A continuous load (3 doors with maglocks). With 18Ah: ~4.5 hours. Sized for code-minimum 4-hour fail-safe operation on a 4-door site.
Commonly paired hardware
